The Gingerbread Man

Robert Altman's ensemble drama THE GINGERBREAD MAN is a hugely disappointing mystery thriller that acts like a parody of John Grisham's earlier works. The acting is histrionic and hammy, with non-American actors Kenneth Branagh and Famke Janssen as the worst offenders. The only one who seems to get what kind of trashy '90s thriller they're in is Robert Downey Jr. and he is the film's bright spot. I mean that literally as well as figuratively as the cinematography and lighting is god-awful and so dark and dreary in every other shot.
