Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Watch this be better than the Tomb Raider remake.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of 2017 as far as movies go, JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE is a joyful and entertaining sequel to the beloved '95 hit family adventure. Watching actors like Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan play basically teenagers lost in the jungle is a real hoot. The movie plays with the cliches with cheesy 90s video games. The creepy retro board game from the Robin Williams movie is now a silly 'Uncharted' ripoff action/adventure multi-player with increasingly illogical levels and bizarre threats. Really, the movie plays out more like a better version of the adequate if unoriginal GOOSEBUMPS movie from 2015; also starring Jack Black funny enough. There are few family movies like JUMANJI: WECLOME TO THE JUNGLE these days that also work as a solid jungle adventure flick. And as far as video game movies go, it's perhaps the best one ever made.
