An ultra-hip modern day chick-flick, "Going the Distance" was not as wretched as I originally assumed it would be. Justin Long and Drew Barrymore have a great amount of rapport together on screen, despite the age difference, and the chemistry just seems to work. The comedy was very well done, but not quite as well done as the drama side of the story. The hardships and suspicions that would naturally come of a long-distance relationship seem to be manifest in a very real way, often leaving the two central characters in tears. The ideals of workplace goals also is well-lit, offering the question, is a career more important as a dream or as a reality? A wonderfully bright adult love story, "Going the Distance" was a treat to watch and experience.
