'Wild Oats' is a comedy specifically meant for the geriatric crowd. It's senior fantasy story incorporates a falsified insurance claim, lavish money-spending, exotic vacationing, a pair of con-artists, and trouble with the law. At the center we have the care-free exploits of a recent widow and her eccentric best friend. The cast is full of well respected aging actors (all of whom I've long admired). There's a decent amount of chuckles found in the cheeky safe humor. It's a breezy, un-filling watch that ultimately amounts to nothing more than the purest surface level fluff. Thankfully, it never attempts to rise above this simple manner. There is some minor entertainment present for those outside the older-aged demographic. Harmless, but forgettable, time waster with considerable talent at play.
