MGM: When the Lion Roars

Not a bad documentary about MGM. The non-archival footage is clearly dated. Patrick Stewart is at his cheesiest best. This film was produced by Turner Classic Movies, which makes sense because as I learned in part 3, Ted Turner owns the rights to the whole MGM film library. But, surprisingly, not the name, logo, etc. It spends way too much time on the 20s and 30s and too little time on the 50s to the present.

This film could be at least another 2-hours longer. It loses a 1/2 star because of the horrible 1990s production and the focus of the early years over the later ones.
