Death Proof

Tarantino Pushes Dialogue Limits

Tarantino is my favorite director. None of his movies have left me unsatisfied. I enjoyed this movie. This movie is completely different from the rest because it is almost too much Tarantino. It is by far his most dialogue-heavy films. I usually like Tarantino's dialogue-filled movies, this one was just a little too heavy for me. I think the dialogue really dragged down the movie because (not to be an ass), they were women. I found myself wanting to fast forward through half the movie. I relented and was pleasantly surprised how it picked up. Kurt Russell was amazing and did a perfect job with his character. He was the best thing about the movie. The lap dance scene was perfect. It reminded me of the dance scene in Pulp Fiction. Both were so raw, but were great dances at the same time; I loved it. She really made the first act for me with that dance. It was all rescued with the Tarantino-esque ending of Act-II. I haven't laughed that hard at the end of a movie in a long time. This is definitely a must-see for Tarantino fans, but most movie fans might not side with the movie that much.
