This sequel picks up four weeks after the first, and our heroine Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) has gained quite a bit of weight and is feeling insecure. Things are not going that great with her dream guy, human rights lawyer Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and they start to squabble after a while, about small things (like how Mark folds his pants) and her inability to fit in with Darcy's ultra conservative crowd, a bunch of uptight lawyers with whom she is hopelessly out of depth. Bridget is also convinced Darcy is having an affair with Rebecca (Jacinda Barrett), and her suspicions lead her to splitting with him and falling back into the sights of the devilishly charming Daniel (Hugh Grant) , her former lover who is now a television reporter with whom she is now teamed. But will Bridget get back with Darcy, or shall Daniel have his wicked way?

The film has very funny moments, as well as some poignant ones… my favorite parts are the hilarious fountain scene between Mark and Daniel, Bridget tripping on mushrooms and her interactions with her fellow inmates in the Tailand prison. I also loved all the cute 80s music they played throughout the movie.
