Sam Mendes has taken his role to direct the 23rd Bond movie. Mendes has roped in once again Daniel Craig as the 007 agent of MI6. After a wooden spoon with Quantum of Solace, Mendes brings back the lost bond in action. Thematically it reminds me of Die Hard 4. (cyber terrorism) But Mendes this time with Purvis and Logan create havoc in MI6 instead of city. There is always a sense of humor in 007’s role and Mendes ensured those one liners get bond into the groove.
An unknown attack at MI6 and a hacking process uncovers some secrets of officers as their camouflages has been identified and sent in youtube. Meanwhile Bond (Craig) recovers from a bloody shot which was misfired by Eve (Naomie Harris) after a terrific Istanbul chase in bikes, roof tops and finally on the train. Bond comes back to duty and a new chief in person Mallory (Ralph Fiennes) asks M (Dench) to understand the gravity of the problem MI6 is facing with. There is a hard disk missing for which Bond failed in his first mission, but he trains himself and gets ready to be back in action. He meets a client Severine (Marlohe) at Shanghai and she takes him to Silva her boss (Bardem). Now the game begins. Silva and Bond have a connection. M knows Silva well before. Who is Silva? Why he has retorted to cyber terrorism? Bond now has a mission.
If there is something great in Skyfall, then it would be Javier Bardem. Though he comes in the later half, he steals the show. His laugh threatened me. I just could not imagine the scene where he shows the demonstration of Hydrogen Cyanide. Oh! That was evil!! Craig and Bardem speak about rats living for life. Now that scene was awesome. Wait I am not opening up many points. I will say action is cool. The final assault was cinematically perfect. The emotional scenes work. Bond is in his groove. Craig jumps on train, fights thugs, rides bikes on roof tops, shoots a lot of guns and also gets himself into the romantic groove. Bond is back. Every one needed Bond of this kind. Super cool, smart, sexy and also body built. Craig delivers in all aspects. The bad guy Bardem is equally smart as Bond. Excellent chemistry Mendes has given them. Dench was more important in this plot. Side roles are few, but they too play an important role. So in all Skyfall is a perfect action film. Sit back relax and get yourself some popcorn, because Bond is back! When Craig says “Bond James Bond”, I clearly get the prowess of that dialog. He is back.
Vivacious, lure, spine tingling spicy, steadfast and modish Bond film. Mendes brings James Bond again
