The ending of Talaash is bizarre. For some, it might be frustating, and for few it is quite thrilling. For me, it was kind of de javu. I appreciate that. But the consequences leading to them, were absurd. Reema Kagti ( Honeymoon Travels) has paired up with Aamir Khan and Farhan Akhthar, to bring in Talaash, which is meant to be a potent crime thriller. Yes indeed, it was a crime thriller with a way too unexpected ending and close of case, but I couldn't find anywhere it being potent.

The plot is about mysterious road accident of film star Armaan kapur. Inspector Shekhawat (Aamir Khan) an encounter specialist handles this case. Meanwhile he is insomniac at nights thinking about his lost son. His wife Roshni (Rani Mukharjee) is also dull and upset. She meets her neighbor and starts believing in her activities which would psychologically upset her. Shekhawat doesn't like this prank. He always argues with his wife. He keeps himself away from world and always blames himself for the death of his son. Armaan's wife informs about a rat in the hole. Shekhawat in search of him, meets Rosie (Kareena Kapoor) a sex worker. He keeps meeting her and takes clues from her. His wife doubts his activities. They decide to be aloof. The rat is caught suddenly and something different occurs in the case. It is said that Rosie has another name, and she is involved in the case. Is Shekhawat cheated by Rosie? How does this case get solved?

Aamir Khan plays a tough cop. He sheds his emotions at right times. He is looking steady, but his past is disturbing him. As an encounter specialist, no shoot out scene is in the film. Something strange here. Rani Mukharjee is soft and well acted in her role. She worries a lot at the beginning. But changes herself to a different character towards the end. Kareena Kapoor is playing a sex worker. A different role indeed. I agree, but all that stuff goes awry as climax unfolds. Sidiqqui is special in his role. He has brought great depths in his acting. For instance, the scene before he falls from top, he has exceptional eye expressions by looking at the shocking scenario. Other roles were fitted well into the bill.

If I would say that Talaash is a taut and potent crime thriller dealing with human drama, then I would go wrong. Talaash had a hope and gets an exciting start. It loses track in between. But the climax unfolds in such a way that one would be left thinking on and on the hell that just happened. Oh dear ! Talaash has just nicked away by long distance a potential thriller is meant to be. It ended as a bizarre and suave human drama dealing with psychological stuff and prank. Reema's Talaash is just not the movie we waited for these years. It is the movie, we did not expect from Aamir Khan.

Bizarre and choked with sub plots, though has an enigmatic climax, Talaash is suave and rusty in unfolding the finale.
