Watching this movie dashed all my boyhood dreams of becoming am "armyman" but at the same time gave me an incredible portrayal of what heroism really is. A gripping; moving film, worth at least one watch.

great film good visualisation of one of the biggest battles of world war 2 and probally one of the greatest war scenes of all time in film. all actors put up a great peformance, and the film was deserved for the awards it won. some of the blood was confronting but i can see why it was used as if to put you in the film and show what the soldiers experienced during the war, especially since its based on a true story over all one of those movies you have to see in your life time

Saving Private Ryan is one of my favorite war movies as it treats all the soldiers as people and individuals. Tom Hanks is particularly great in this. The movie is shot to make you feel very shell-shocked and tired out by the end. The D-day landing is particularly intense.

Excellent film, but I think the Clint Eastwood war films were better then this. I love 'Saving Private Ryan' though. It's an amazing film with a great cast and it deserves to be seen. So if you have the time, it's long, and wanna great action flick Here ya go!

This is still one of the only movies that can make me cry. Saving Private Ryan is the best war movie not named Apocalypse Now. This is the movie that should've won Best Picture in 1998, NOT Shakespeare in Love. Tom Hanks gives what I think is his best performance ever and Spielberg wins his 2nd Best Director Oscar (the first was Schindler's List). The soundtrack is very moving also. This is definitely one of the best "guy" movies ever made.

It's got Tom Hanks in it, and no Meg Ryan. So, you know it's going to be good. However, it's not quite as good as what people make it out to be. Oh! And, it has Matt Damon and Vin Diesel in it! So yeah, it's pretty good. My favorite part is when Hanks' character notices that his hands shake. That's very telling.

I did see this movie once. And It was good. But what I don't think Steven Spielberg would understand is that by molding a war drama into a story of redemption and heroes is commonplace...everyone does it, most of all people like Clint Eastwood....God I hate him. However, "Saving Private Ryan" left me shivering with the most pleasant cinegasms I've ever had.

In my opinion, this is Tom Hanks and Spielberg's best film. I remember seeing this movie in like seventh grade and it blew me away. The intense violence and gut wrenching story line will keep your eye's glued to the F***king screen.

The beginning was way to long for me. Each and every cast member did an amazing job. Really good movie. See It.
