The BEST of the Pirates movies, thoroughly entertaining, great action, great CGI, perfect balance between Jack Sparrow and Capt Barbosa. Loved it!

I loved this film. It was funny and exciting. I thought the costuming and sets were great. The story was fun. Depp was fabulous as Capt. Jack. Of course, it also helps that Depp, Bloom and Knightly are all beautiful to look at.

Overrated. I thought was going to watch a super adventure and Is nothing but a disney flick with cool effects. Can't believe it continues making so much money.

While not the greatest film ever, the first Pirates has a lot of action, fun dialogue and a descent story. Johnny Depp stands out as "Captain" Jack Sparrow and truly elevates the film. Fun for the whole family!

While I was not overly amazed at anything in this movie, nor did I believe that Johnny Depp's performance was Oscar worthy, there were some good parts. It has a pretty decent script with good direction. I guess I gave it a lower star rating because everyone else loves it. Good for the mass people in the world ? over rated in general.
