A satisfactory Bond flick, though an emotionally detached and jittery one with virtually nothing more than passably memorable. The action is often, but standard, the villains odious but easily disposed of and the only things that really work are some minor comedy relief and the veteran charm of Craig and Dench. Final Grade: C+

Ok follow-up sequel to Casino Royale that cant compete with how great that movie was. My problem with this movieis that it dosen't feel like a Bond movie. It looks like a copy of The Bourne Ultimataum crossed with Rambo. James Bond is not a action hero! I don't really favor him as being so cold and angry for revenge, but it was alrigt for the film. The saving grace of the movie which i reccomend only for seeing are the action scenes, the opening car chase sequence and the foot chase which are done very good and are awesome.

Action: 3/3 + Comedy: 0.5/2 + Good vs Evil: 1/1 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Special Effects: 1/1 + Plot: 0.5/1 + Music: 0.5/1 = 5.5/10 or 75%. As always the second outting in a series is the action packed thrill ride the first wouldn't be. And that's okay. Quantum picks up exactly where Casino left off and every time Craig steps into a room the question isn't whether or not Bond will kick butt, it's whether or not anyone will be alive. This is the clever part of Bond that M addresses directly, "Is anyone alive Bond?" Thus, Bond is now more like Bourne. Turn off brain, eat popcorn, watch beautiful people try to survive.

This is the gritty Bond we were promised in Casion Royale and didn't get. Craig's Bond is not a nice guy : steely eyed, silent and murderous, he's more of an Eastwood-style hero than the cheeky playboy of the Brosnan years. Which is to say, he's a believable spy in a world where government officials exploit the weak and the CIA supports violent dictators. Bond purists who like comic-booky action will be disappointed. Borne Identity fans will think it's a step in the right direction.

Not the greatest Bond, but good enough. I still like the raw action and crude attitude of Daniel Craig's Bond. What I don't necessarily care for is the plot. It seems to me that in the older Bonds they fought against something that would put the world in imminent danger. In this Bond, he fought against a man who was going to overcharge a dictator for water. I realize that lives would be at risk, but it just didn't do it for me. Plus, there wasn't any real climax. It felt like it could have ended at any moment. Asides from the primary story, I still think this was a good movie. The action was great, Bond eluded to his womanizing side and you can start to see the road that they are going down with this Bond series.

This film has not been reviewed as a sequel to Casino Royale for some reason unknown to me. This now is being hated for diverting from the old ones too much, but Casino Royale did the same thing, and if your like me well you do not care about the originals. so as a sequel to Casino Royale it is great. It has plenty of great action sequences and an interesting enough story. It is not as good as Casino Royale but it is close and that makes it very good. I recommend it to anyone who liked Casino Royale, but I will agree that it is not like the old ones but that does not make it bad, in fact for someone like me I think it is a good thing.

Picking up moments after the preceding Casino Royale left off, Quantum of Solace is a Bond flick that's based on pure revenge, as Bond wants to find those responsible for Vesper's death in the previous film. His investigation leads him to QUANTUM, a mysterious organization with international ties that we don't really learn much about (perhaps that's the focus of the next Bond film). Lots of action, and this film continues to dig deeper into making Bond a character with depth, rather than the caricature he had become.

MINOR SPOILERS. Although, I'm not a hardcore fan of the Bond franchise, I've never lost a flick. I was looking forward to this one, and ended up a bit dissapointed. Not because is a bad flick, because is not. But because, to my taste, is not a Bond flick. Batman has to be dark, Superman naive and Bond has to be Bond... with moneypenny, Q and the Bond theme throughout the film. I was hoping that with the new reboot of Casino, all that would return with this one, but it doesnt. Well. I guess I'll have to wait for the next one.
