While not Scorsese's best movie, I really enjoyed it. Deserved the best picture award for sure!

My fourth favorite Scorsese film. This is a brilliant cat and mouse thriller. Scorsese really nails the drama and suspense head on and keeps the viewer glued to their seats. On top of that, the film even has its funny moments. Well deserving of Best Picture.

This is one of my overall favorite movies. Unbelievable story, twists, and stars. Just by looking at the cast, you know this movie cannot miss. In my opinion, this was Leo's break through movie that separated him from his "gay" actor label. What I mean is that the 18-23 year old generation always thought he was a girls actor because of Titanic. Back then, I remember you were considered a wuss if you liked him. There is nothing more to really say about this movie, if you havn't seen it, get on it quick because it is definately one of the best of the century. If your a Mark Wahlberg fan like I am, you be especially excited about how this one ends....

It simply amazes me how all characters intersect in the climax. Each storyline play out well and as they both transition over time. Exceptional performance by Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio. No surprise by Jack Nicholson. The elevator scene will stand as the best.

This was hands-down the best movie of 2006, regardless of all the "Juno" fans who rooted for it during the Oscars. However, Martin Scorsese is brilliant in crafting a rather episodic crime drama about mobsters and cops and what little difference there is between them...cause who cares when you're facing a loaded gun, eh? The cinematography, the writing, the acting, direction, everything was flawless. Way to go, Scorsese for finally earning your first Oscar nod ["Goodfellas" should have been your first.]

I think this movie ranks second among Martin Scorsese's impressive catalogue of movies, and once again he has a stellar cast. I think Leonardo DiCaprio, Alec Baldwin, and Mark Wahlberg reach a level of acting they never have before. Dicaprio plays a similar role in Gangs of New York, and proved he was equal to such a challenge and does it again flawlessly. Jack Nicholson is remarkable as well, as insane as he was in The Shining, and ten times more sadistic. This is a must see movie for all who have not seen it, with brilliant and unexpected plot twists that will leave you stunned. And best of all Scorsese finally won the oscar he should of had long before.

This is just another superb Scorsese movie, as well as just another superb Nicholson movie. Two in one! Can't beat that! This is also the movie that turned me on to Matt Damon. Other than Good Will Hunting I hadn't noticed him making good movies. But, the quartet of Damon, Nicholson, DiCaprio and Wahlberg make this an excellent movie. It's definitely a classic.

Brilliantly-devised, expertly-acted, scripted and directed, viciously entertaining and complex crime drama. Kudos to Martin Scorsese, Matt Damon, Leonardo Dicaprio, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin, Mark Wahlberg and the writing and editing. Final Grade: A

Caught a premiere of The Departed-- the joint was packed, and the crowd loved it. People were clapping and cheering at the climax! Scorsese's a friggin' genius. Sure, it's an American remake, but the dialogue is snappy and the action and tension are intense. Lots of Scorsesque touches like the blaring loud soundtrack which abruptly cuts off to dialogue. Not a lackluster performance in the bunch -- the four male leads bluster with bravado, and Nicholson's as scary as ever. It's a solid two hours, but doesn't feel a minute too long.

I'm actually not a big Scorsese's fan. I like some of his movies, and I find only Taxi Driver a truly timeless masterpiece. The Departed is not a to my point of view, a masterpiece at all. It does has, though, some interesting points, a fantastic acting and for momments, and a superb score, again, for momments. It's kind of a late view in my agenda, but ultimately, I didn't feel I missed something. At all.
