Annie Hall: a romantic comedy that is so much more than that. It's endlessly inventive, almost reckless with tricks, but it works every time. So many bits in this movie have been referred to by me and my friends when something happens: wishing we had Marshall McLuhan to intercede with a blathering know-it-all; comparing reactions of girlfriends to silly situations like lobster-catching; imagining what someone really means by an awkward comment. This is Woody Allen's pinnacle, a perfect combination of his brainy humor and his heart. Favorite image: Annie's psycho brother driving a petrified Alvy through the rainy dark night.

Woody Allen writes some of his best material in this film - a combination of neurosis and heart. The unlikely romance between him and Diane Keaton feels real and emotional. This is a timeless classic.

A Woody Allen film in his style to a degree. That is what helps it actually because he does not go so much into his overly examining characters in the same way that he does in some of his other films. It is fairly funny all though everyone has different humor tastes and therefore his type is not for all. It is not really for me too much but I thought this still worked and its unorthodox methods of telling the story are much better done and could have easily failed but they do not. Oscar Nominee Best Actor Woody Allen 1/5- Woody Allen plays himself although it is not named that he gives the same performance he gives in every other film I have seen him in. It is precisely what it is but it is absolutely nothing for Allen to do it again.

The best scene is when he sneezes and blows away all the cocaine! Hilarious!

I love this movie because of its razor-like wit and it provided an interesting character study. It made me wish that Woody Allen can still make timeless films such as this one. "Match Point" came really close to that level of precision. I know he still has it in him.

It's a really good movie. Not my favorite Woody Allen. However, I'm glad Star Wars lost out on Best Picture to this. It's crafty and has Diane Keaton in the role of a lifetime. It also turns the romantic comedy on its ear. My favorite part is the kids telling what they are going to be when they grow up.

I absolutely adore neurotic Woody Allen and quirky Diane Keaton. she made wearing a tie cool and no one can forget the scene with the lobsters.

Good dialog, and sometimes interesting. I didn't care for it. Maybe it it?s because I didn't grow up in the 70's.
