A cool sci-fi concept, with good execution. The faux documentary style works at first, but gets lost at the end when the film essentially boils down to a standard action finale. Still, it has some interesting ideas and it's completely entertaining.

This movie should have been the best movie of the year. It has a fantastic story, great acting and special effects. The problem is that Neil Blomkamp made the movie like a documentary so just when you were getting into it they would stop the momentum by going to eye witnesses or interviews with co-workers. Because of this filming style, the movie never reached its full potential, which I believe would have been one of the best movies ever. Instead, I am left feeling a little disappointed.

Okay, this was a good Sci-fi concept with good acting so why did I give it only 3 stars? It was not evenly paced at all. The beginning was bit boring and then the end was great. A rewrite to make the movie fit together better and make the audience care about the characters rather then just know about the characters would have been an improvement. About half way through I was committed to the characters, before that I just thought this is an interesting idea. So overall, a good sci-fi but I felt it could have been better executed at the writing stage and in the editing. The rest was great.
