This was vintage Clint Eastwood and anyone who appreciates the body of work of Clint Eastwood will especially love this film. It was reminiscent of Unforgiven in several ways. The entire movie set Clint Eastwood up as a gruff, uncaring individual who is a hardened killer (in this case, he was in the Korean War) who warms up over the course of the film. The ending is the kind of Unforgiven-esque poetic character change that make Eastwood as relevant in modern film as he is.

The story is great and it is very well constructed. Unfortunately there is some bad acting hear and there, but that can be forgiven, because it is still a great movie and very well directed. Nice and simple. But the thing that really makes this film special is Clint Eastwood himself. He gives an amazing performance as a grumpy old Vietman vet, who is much more than first meets the eye. One of my favorites of the year hand down!

One of Eastwood's best performances in years. His bitter, snarling old racist character undergoes great development and receives redemption.

One of the best Eastwood movies that I seen in years. I was waiting for this movie to come out and it was well worth the wait. There is a good mroal to the story that everyone can learn from. I took a lot away from the movie and am waiting to see it again, and then pruchase it when it comes out on DVD. Be sure to bring tissues with you.

Perhaps the best Eastwood movie yet. I absolutely love the fact that it is a call for non-violence.

What an ace, and as is always the case, this film would be nothing without him. He plays this gruff character with ease, and next to him, the already disappointing performances of the young cast members come out looking/sounding even worse. Though anything with Eastwood's name attached is most certainly worth seeing.
