For anyone else this would've been a great film, but coming from the Coens it's somewhat lacking. There's just too much going on and you never really feel connected to any one character. The Coens try to do too much with a plot that just isn't really there.

not at all what i expected to see. It was not worth the movie ticket. I would of rather waited to see it on DVD. Would not have like it then either

Not as intense and poetic as No Country For Old Men but this film does hold it's own in the Coen capsule. I thought the performances where the best thing about it and that it is worth a watch just because of them. The direction is good and the piece is well written I just found myself wanting more it is worth checking out.

it still continues to shock me that they actually manage to get all of these amazing actors for bombs like these.

I film about stuff happening to comedic effect. Although there is nothing special about this film and it is indeed farce, it still has some funny things. Although they under use their best character played by Brad Pitt in this movie as I feel they do in most of there films. The only problem with this film is there is not much to it, but it has its moments although not enough of them for a 3 star. Do not expect much of a story because it is really not that important just watch and wait for some laughs. Pros: Some funny moments, and a great over the top performance from Brad Pitt. Cons: Under usage of best character, not enough laughs. Plot really is not resolved on a bad over the top performance from George Clooney.

Somewhat humorous as you're watching it, but something tells me a bunch of actors wanted to work together with the Coens and it didn't really matter if it was a script where nothing much happens. An enjoyable watch as it proceeds, but once it's over there's really no incentive to think much about it or see it again.

There is such a considerable amount of big named stars made up Burn After Reading, but not even their hefty paychecks can save this movie to failure. It is somewhat sad when you knew it could have been a lot better but it didn’t. There are just too many uninteresting things that just bore you to death from start to finish. And by the time you’ll get interested it’s too late, it’s an hour and half late. The characters are dull and no nothing of value to this film. I think they could’ve made this movie without them. The story is as dry as a a bone. I can’t even think of a word to describe how slow the pacing was. There’s just too many reasons not to see this, my advice stay away..

Way too average. I guess it's only great for Coen's hard fans.

The Coen Brothers take a break after their masterpiece, "No Country For Old Men". I guess they deserve it. Light on just about everything, from their normal flourishes of style to their unique takes on familiar genres, "Burn After Reading" is just okay. For all involved, I'm afraid that makes it a disappointment. The best thing about it was the acting. Give credit for that to whom you wish, but the cast is the only reason I'd recommend this movie. Everything else is instantly forgettable.

"Burn After Reading" is really the Coen Brothers at their absolute best. Following their dark film noir thriller of "No Country for Old Men," a good dark comedy is all I needed from them, and boy howdy did I get it. The incredible things about this movie is the writing. Truly, could anyone have made a movie essentially about nothing seem so absolutely fantastic!? I would recommend this to everyone with the love of the sophisticated comedy along the lines of "Sideways" and "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
