I can't help it, no matter how classic it is, I can never love this movie. Gene Wilder was amazing in it, of that I will attest to the day I die, but they needed a better Charlie, especially if they were going to have him sing. My ears bled for hours after he sang.

Brings a lot of memories. The wonder of childhood days. The world of pure imaginations. For so many years, I have envied Charlie for being able to get inside this one humongous chocolate factory. Before there was any concern about sugar levels, bad cholesterols, and stored fat, I drooled over this whole river flowing with rich chocolate. And don't forget the wonder gum! It could spark that little kid inside of us.

I haven't seen the 'new' one, but I just can't imagine it to be better than the original. I remember watching this in elementary school and thought it was so fantastic. It's lost some of the wonder over the years, but it's still a great movie.

Fun, imaginative and psychadelic - Willy Wonka is certainly unique. Memorable songs, a good lesson and a terrific performance by Gene Wilder make this a classic.
