Plot: Frank Galvin (Paul Newman) in an Oscar-nominated role, is an alcoholic, ambulance-chasing, washed-up attorney. Picking up a medical malpractice suit that is gifted to him by a fellow attorney (Jack Warden), he goes against a high-powered law firm and takes it to court rather than settle, redeeming himself along the way.
