Hypnotic and fascinating for a while.

"Strange, isn't it? Here we are in the darkest corner of this earth, and we're afraid of our own kind."

You can say "The bad batch" is an exceptional and eccentric movie. It impressed me the first 20 minutes. An apocalyptic and insane society, somewhere in a desert on the American continent, where unwanted individuals are being dropped. Are you a criminal, an illegal or an asocial person, you'll get a distinctive tattoo and a hamburger, and you'll be left behind in the sc...

Not a bad movie, but didn't really live up to the hype. The early scenes of the Amazons were beautiful and stirring, but everything after that got bogged down in either silly fish-out-of-water jokes or maudlin war scenes. The villains (both Doctor Poison and Ares) had real potential, but got lost amid all the fighting and CGI.

So what was the point of calling it Homecoming?

Spider-Man: Homecoming is an energetic, exciting, and overall entertaining superhero movie that sees the hero return to his roots after a botched reboot series. Tom Holland shines as a suitable actor for the role of Peter Parker while Michael Keaton is simply chilling as the fiendish winged supervillain The Vulture. The movie does feature an appearance from Iron Man (RDJ) as Spider-Man's mentor but RDJ doesn't overshadow Holland's performance.
The action is creative and takes full advantage o...

A Welcome Homecoming

I didn't know if we'd ever get Spider-Man in the MCU, but thanks to a lot of wrangling (and I'm sure a lot of money), Civil War gave us our first look at the newest would-be Avenger. This is the third outing for Spider-Man, following Sam Raimi's 2002-2007 trilogy and the attempted Amazing Spider-Man reboot. I was worried that casting someone younger would be risky, but Tom Holland proved in his short time on Civil War he was a great choice - and his first solo outing doesn't disappoint.

Spider-Man: Homecoming - Review

I had my doubts with "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and I wasn't really looking forward to it. There were something about the way it was marketed that turned a lot of people off, including me. With Tony Stark taking over half of your movie poster is pretty bad and made me worried that the movie isn't going to be all that focus. And the fact this is the third reboot of the character. I don't know why Marvel always hire indie film markers to direct these type of b...

"That is one bitching car."

Oh Anthony Hopkins, can you stop embarrassing yourself at the end of your era. Imagine Daniel Day-Lewis ending like this, it's depressing.

Baby Driver is a wild ride of fun and style.

Baby Driver is nothing necessarily new in terms of storytelling but it's a fantastic example of how style can have substance at the same time. Edgar Wright directs a smart slick caper with exciting car chases, snappy dialogue, and colorful characters.
Baby (Ansel Elgort) works for a cunning criminal (Spacey) as their crew's getaway driver. Due to a childhood accident, his hearing isn't up to speed but he can hone in his senses to superhuman degree via playing pop music. It's almost as though ...

Wonder Woman - Review

Well DC, that's much better.

I'm actually quite surprised by this, but glad at the same time. DC didn't have such a great start with it's previous installments and while I'm still anxious about the next upcoming films, I can safely say that "Wonder Woman" is the first decent film in the DC Universe.

The two stand outs of the film are Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Both the chemistry and the performances were all solid. You love seeing them together and hate to see something bad come ...

The Mummy - Review

"The Mummy" isn't a bad movie, just a "blah" one. Didn't hate it like everyone else, but liked it on a enjoyment level.

There were many promising elements here that I wouldn't call "great", but ideas that were visible in it's presentation. I must admit that plane crash scene was pretty intense and had my heart racing. Good thing that Cruise screaming from the trailer wasn't in the final cut, because that would easily ruin the scene. Sofia Boutella did a decent j...
