Quiet, Good Movie; Cinematography Great

Manchester by the Sea was a good, but not great, movie. It's a solemn movie that follows a man through life, as he plods along in self-punishment, being rude, mean, anti-social, and depressed, as he self-medicates with booze along the way. All this as self-punishment for the unintentional part he played in some family deaths previously. Casey Affleck's performance was good, but there wasn't a whole lot in the character to work with, since he barely responds to the other characters, except for...

It is the mark of a great movie when it can make you feel as many and as wide a range of emotions that this movie did. I cried because of sadness and happinesses and I felt both luck and selfish during the tow hours of this movie. I highly recommend it.

So many Voids so littl.....What the huh?

The Void starts out with a pretty promising 15 minutes but it becomes bogged down for most of the middle with only an all out "Trippy Orgy of Bizarre" final act to keep it from sinking totally into the Abyss of forgettable Horror films. Void is ultimately done in by poor acting by the lead and too many idiotic choices made by all the characters. I kept having the feeling that a scene got missed by me or the film makers. This could have been a much better film with more believable Writing a...

Way too long. It tries to expand on the Disney animated version from 1991, but it just slows the story down and makes it overly long. Emma Watson can't sing. the Be Our Guest scene is breathtaking.

A departure from the standard X-Men format for sure but very enjoyable nontheless. The film neatly takes the franchise into pastures new. The way is open to X-Men "The Next Generation" for sure. Plenty of action, but a sober throughout. Stewart has declared his franchise exit with this film but with cloning technology and CGI who knows...

La La Land- Carnivorous Couch Review

One of my favorite bands is the Talking Heads. There are a number of their songs that I might call their best on any given day, but I think the one that has always resonated with me most is “Life During Wartime”. It’s a bleak, deceptively energetic song about how living through war strips human beings down to a state of bare subsistence. At the height of wartime, human beings no longer think about things extraneous to their survival. To live through war is to lose the taste for nice things, suc...

Surprisingly Good

I feel a little weird about Blue Is the Warmest Colour, but it's not specifically that one film in particular. I think I feel a little weird about sex scenes in films full stop. On-screen sex belongs in porn movies, as far as I'm concerned, and not in 'legitimate' filmmaking, but I suppose that's my issue, and I shouldn't let my prejudices get in the way. So, having established that my first point in this review is irrelevant, we'll move on.

Apart from my awkwardness concerning sex scenes, ...

it wasn't what i thought it was. acting was ok but nothing even close to award winning. neither the film or acting.
whole thing was just odd. the beginning cover your eyes
