Rogue One: A Star Wars Story  Add to movie list
Rating of: 3/4

I didn't love a lot of the Star Wars callbacks and felt that the new characters were a bit flat, but I did really enjoy the atmosphere and cinematography. Edwards really does a nice job of creating a good battle scene with scale, and Jyn Erso is the nicest of the new additions. Great practical effects and war tactility, but it was often hindered by the need to adhere to the Star Wars formula (ie. comic-relief droid, random throw-ins of old characters, CGI-ing the classic actors unnecessarily, a...

Introspect of a Pitcher

'The Phenom' is a sports drama all about examining the psychology of this teen who has been programmed from the start to pursue a career in baseball. The pressures he feels from coaches/owners, the harmful conditioning of his father, and the inability to set aside any career achievement for growing personal relationships are explored all from the point of view of the athlete. I admire the depth for which the film reaches. Performances across the board are great. Simmons portrays the deep co...

“Doctor Strange”: introducing new era into MCU

"Doctor Strange,” in my opinion, is Marvel’s first step into the uncharted. Sure, “Guardians of the Galaxy” was a bold undertaking, but the concept of gods and aliens had already been explored in “Thor” and “The Avengers.” “Ant Man” may have given us a glimpse into the Quantum Realm, but at the end of the day, it was little more than a comedic heist film with a taste of “Honey I Shrunk the Kids.”

Helmed by horror director Scott Derrickson, “Doctor Strange” invites us into Marvel’s world...

Easily the best movie of the year so far, Hacksaw Ridge is another masterpiece from brilliant director Mel Gibson. Featuring excellent performances across the board, top notch technical credits, a moving incredible true story and some of the most ferocious battle sequences ever committed to film, Hacksaw Ridge takes it place with Saving Private Ryan as one of the best war movies ever made.

Could have been a lot better

With such a good concept in a pity that more effort wasn’t put into the story. I really enjoyed the short film the movie was based on, also directed by David F. Sandberg, and I couldn’t wait to see the long theatrical version. I was simply expecting much more than what I got.

The beginning of the movie showed promise of a good movie and then it’s all downhill. There is almost no character build up and the story’s background is based on a very mediocre plot. The film’s original idea needed a...

This movie is directed by David O. Russel, which has a very unique and singular filmmaking stiles, which light up the actors performances enclosing the camera in almost all shots during this whole movie, capturing even the tiny expressions. This is a movie based on a book from Matthew Quick and works, indeed, along with the book. The casting for this movie was great, focusing on the four main characters and how great and subtle and always in the right tone they were. Flawless performances speci...
