"What are you thinking? What are you feeling? What have we done to each other? What will we do?"

David Fincher never disappoints as always. The plot focuses on Nick Dunne and his popular wife Amy. It's a typical slow-burner at first but once the story unfolds abut the 2 main characters it gets very interesting. His style of direction here reminded me of classic films such as Psycho (in terms of mood and background music), Double Indemnity/American Beauty (the almost similar plot/storyline), Fatal Attraction (Amy of course), Silence of the Lambs (the female cop with the accent) and Fight Clubs wicked dark humor. Artists playing the characters were spotless especially Rosamund Pike, who was just electrifying! If only she gets an Oscar recognition (the very least) for her potryal of the calculative and sinister Amy. This is why we watch movies, to learn (how difficult marriage is, media exploitation, betrayal and infidelities), quotable zingers, and have a roller coaster of emotions (it can be early hilarious, creepy, shocking and plays out like a mystery ala Blue Velvet with sexual tensions).
