Monuments Men review

Lt. Frank Stokes (Clooney) recruits Lt. James Granger (Damon), Sgt. Richard Campbell (Murray), Sgt. Walter Garfield (Goodman), Pvt. Preston Savitz Balaba), Lt. Donald Jeffries and Lt. Jean Claude Clermont to rescue precious artworks sequestered by the Nazi's. Starts of slow then picks up after the team gets close and somewhat leaves you wanting for more after the conclusion. Insufficient character history for the squad with the exception of Granger and Stokes. Highlights were the sequences of the hilarious and at times emotional tandem of Preston and Campbell, Stokes speech for the men before they start the mission and discovering the last art works in which the Russians were equally interested in. It had humor, a little bit of drama and action which makes it an entertaining watch. Screenplay was wisely written and in the careful hands of Clooney, was crafty in the direction. Monuments Men is an interesting true story of men risking their lives to save art.
