Mildred Pierce review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 09/28/13

A conflict arises between Mildred Pierce's (Joan Crawford) and Bert Pierce (Bruce Bennett) and investigation on the murder of Monte Beragon. Mildred also has troubles controlling Veda (Ann Blyth). Interesting for the mystery aspect but tends to have idle lengthy conversations that prolongs the plot. Soundtrack, acting, direction and story were crafty and impressive. The screenplay was great since it originated from a novel – “Personally, Veda's convinced me that alligators have the right idea. They eat their young.” and “Well, it seems to me, if you're buying anything, it should be the best.” By the time one reaches the conclusion one feels a certain relief. Overall, Mildred Pierce is an above average picture that keeps you glued from start to finish.
