Chernobyl Diaries review

A combination of a very poor blair witch project (in terms of usage of darkness) and dawn of the dead (premise of radiation). Friends Chris (Jesse McCartney), his girlfriend Natalie (Olivia Taylor Dudley), brother Paul (Jonathan Sadowski) and Amanda (Devin Kelley) travel to Europe. Paul was able to get a nice deal from Uri (Dimitri Diatchenko) to go to a town near Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Mysterious things occur and the animals act unusually in the deserted town. So many flaws such as the gun appearing in Paul's hand again after leaving it with his brother, the cellphone left but on the recorded video it was still moving, etc. As always in most horror flicks, the characters act dumb like Zoe (Ingrid Bolsø Berdal) who couldn't cross but were not chased by the rabid dogs. Pace was sluggish, premise overdone (found footage, radiation infected creatures, abandoned location, etc.) and direction just faulty. This critic would stick to The Night of the Living Dead, The Evil Dead and Dawn of the Dead for similar plots.
