Lolita review

"I'm really sorry that I cheated so much. But I guess that's just the way things are." One of the most bizarre relationships onscreen much like Harold and Maude coupled with a unique start. Humbert Humbert searches for a teaching job and meets Charlotte Haze, who has an attractive daughter named Lolita. Sensational screenplay with lines: "Where does the time go by." "Don't forget me." "Every game has its rules." "Everything's changed." "Do you have to antagonize everybody." "The past is he past." So many laughable moments such as Hum relaxing with a drink in the tub after Charlotte's death, Lolita wanting to call her mother in the hospital and the collapsible bed sequence. The soundtrack plays a huge role in the film while the direction was fluid. Performances were believable to keep you glued all-throughout. A movie that exhibits the nature of murdering thoughts, obsession, possessiveness, hebephilia, manners and lies. Lolita, in this critics opinion, was far more superior than Dr. Strangelove in terms of direction, entertainment value, humor and realism.
