Straw Dogs review review

One of the recognized crime flicks back in the 70's. Somehow, it intrigued the curiosity because of its popularity (and rating on the site). A story about married couple David Sumner (Dustin Hoffman) and his childish wife Amy (Susan George). First 20 minutes or so was a drag. The couple were weird, antagonists too obnoxious and Amy just irritating. Hoffman's portrayal was sincere, the rest was rubbish and unbelievable. Overall it feels like viewing a soap opera instead of a film. Horrendous soundtrack and action at the end seemed comical instead of suspenseful. Amy screams no at the guy who was trying to rape her? How ironic. Dated and just a simple premise that was too lengthy. There were so many better films on violence, rape and more. This picture just didn't appeal to this reviewer.
