World Greatest Dad review

A black comedy that is actually funny, but turns very dark towards the middle of the film. This critic feels Robin Williams has the penchant for the genre (Death to Smoochy, Fisher King, etc.). Lance Clayton (Robin Williams) is a single father who dreams of becoming an author and has a sex obsessive son Kyle (Daryl Sabara). Williams was really good and absorbed his role here while Sabara provided solid support.

Plot was really dark but the humorous scenes were laughable. Lacks character development on the leads, how Lance became a single dad and how Kyle became the way he is since his father is a teacher in the school he goes too. Soundtrack was well picked and who couldn't forget Bruce Hornsby's appearance. Word's Greatest Dad is a good dark comedy about being a father when a son need's it most, respecting your parents, legacy left while we are living and respecting the truth.
