An amusing underrated gem involving 7 essential figures: Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), a psychiatrist, Mrs. Peacock (Eileen Brennan), a Senator's wife who has accepted bribes, Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), an alleged black widow, Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), who operates an illegal brothel, Colonel Mustard (Martin Mull) a war profiteer who made his money from selling stolen radio components, Mr. Green (Michael McKean) a homosexual and butler, Wadsworth (Tim Curry). Wonderful soundtrack, intricate plot, likable characters, sincere performances and an engaging story. Best lines: Mrs. Peacock - "No, just death, isn't that enough?" "And it's always difficult when a group of new friends meet together for the first time, to get acquainted. So I'm perfectly prepared to start the ball rolling." Mrs. White - "Well, it's a matter of life after death. Now that he's dead, I have a life." This film could have not been enticing if it weren't for the spectacular performance of Tim Curry, who does play an essential role which made me decide who did it in the end. Clue is everything you would want, a mixture of dark comedy, mystery, crime and touches of horror thanks to a wonderful set.
