Naked Lunch

Naked Lunch review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 11/16/12

Not one of the best from the director in this critics opinion, it was however fresh with regard to its premise and horrific in certain scenes. William Lee (Peter Weller) is an exterminator who was tasked to perform a mission by a controller (a giant bug). The bugs were realistic and gore were spot on, coming from the directors reputation of creating realistic fiction. Weak-points were the uninteresting lead, lack of exciting supporting cast, ineffective soundtrack and clarity with the purpose of the missions. Even the pace was albeit sluggish. Had some funny and dramatic moments, but overall felt average compared to Cronenberg's many masterpieces. Naked Lunch is about writers/writing, finding an adventure and removing rational thoughts.
