Broadcast News review

A winning triumvirate of leads with an engaging story that will make you smile, frown and think. Jane Craig (Hunter), a smart/skillful producer, and Aaron Altman (Brooks), an experienced writer and reporter, are long time friends whose relationship will be tested when Tom Grunick (William Hurt) joins their network. perfect cast, astounding screenplay, brilliant direction, life-like performances and a fantastic score to boot. Topics on pretentiousness, friendships, choices, corporate lay-offs, sucking-up, professionalism and love were exhibited beautifully. Even the supporting casts were funny and believable. Best lines: Aaron - "Well, wait a minute, that changes everything!" "Wouldn't this be a great world if insecurity and desperation made us more attractive? If "needy" were a turn-on?" and Tom - "Everybody has to sell a little." Broadcast News is a delightful drama comedy in which is frame is unbearable to resist. Definitely one of the best films of its genre and about broadcasting.
