The Samurai of Ayothaya review

"Remember that the only eternal thing in life is being virtuous so when we die, your name and your good deeds will not die with you." Action fanatics should not miss this. A true to life story of Yamada Nagamasa, a Japanese adventurer who later became a governor in the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Yamada (Ozeki) was captured by enemy Siamese warriors and later becomes part of the people in Ayothaya. Screenplay was zen-like with quotes: Champa - "Power struggles exist everywhere." and Yamada - "True friendship is based on equality and will never fade away."

Definitely one of the best and unique fight scenes depicted on screen because of its authenticity and spectacular choreography. Obviously better than Raid Redemption (an action flick with relentless action but fails on the plot/character development). The score and performances were endearing. Direction was unique since the gory scenes were done tastefully while showing the land with its skillful cinematography. The Samurai of Ayothaya is earnest in portraying love for a new environment/culture, leaving a legacy, respect, friendship and loyalty.
