Suicide Kings review

A film that has twists and turns that is unexpected and worth the wait based on the plot alone. Avery (Henry Thomas), Max (Sean Patrick Flanery), T.K. (Jeremy Sisto) and Brett (Jay Mohr) are friends who holds a Mafioso named Charlie Barret (Walken) captive. Avery's sister, Elise, has been kidnapped, and that the kidnappers (Frank Medrano and Brad Garrett) are demanding $2 million ransom for her release. Pace of the picture somewhat drags due to the numerous flashbacks and character development. Soundtrack was upbeat and acting spectacular especiialy from Mohr and Walken. Though some of the dialogue was iffy, some lines were effective especially from Charlie Barret – “You should never lie to your friends.” “But I come from out there, and everybody out there knows, everybody lies: cops lie, newspapers lie, parent's lyin'.” “Life is short. So's my whole family.” “Lives don't make sense, it's not fair. It doesn't follow logic or obey orders.” Direction was good and utilization of flashbacks though a bit overdone was necessary. Suicide Kings borders on morality, kidnapping, trust, lies, friendship, loyalty and organized crime.
