Goodfellas
Goodfellas review
4/4 stars

This is a realistic mob flick filled with various elements of film about the rise and descend of the Lucchese crime family, connections of Henry Hill and his friends. Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) narrates that local mob capo, Paul "Paulie" Cicero (Paul Sorvino) and his associates, Jimmy "The Gent" Conway (Robert De Niro) and Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) looks after him. Henry marry a Jewish girl named Karen (Lorraine Bracco). Tommy and Jimmy beat-up beats Billy Batts (Frank Vincent), a mobster with the Gambino crime family for insulting him a few years back.

Astounding screenplay with a few quotes from the film: Henry – “Murder was the only way that everybody stayed in line.” “You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like you said to, uh, somebody, "You're gonna like this guy. He's all right. He's a good fella. He's one of us.” Jimmy – “You took your first pinch like a man and you learn two great things in your life. Look at me, never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut.” The acting provided by the cast was superb while the camera work just breathtaking. Its score and costumes were applicable and pacing was good. The multi-awarded and nominated picture deserves every accolade and recognition it got. A classic movie that is re-watchable and ageless, Goodfellas is an entertaining look at the real lifestyle of the mafia with themes of loyalty, greed, power, violence, crime, principles and friendship.
