Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Pirates of the Caribbean review

Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) takes Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), who has a gold medallion, as hostage for an escape. He encounters Will (Orlando Bloom) and duels him while Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) negotiates for the medallion in exchange for the attack at Port Royal. The film was a bit lengthy for the plot but boasts of astonishing effects and swash buckling pirate action. It becomes effective because of Johnny Depp’s passion with his eclectic character. Score was pertinent, the costumes and set pieces well-designed. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is a breathtaking thrill ride mixed with action and humor rarely seen for this type of genre that spawned a successful box office franchise.
