Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and Elizabeth (Keira Knightley) meet Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat), pirate lord of Singapore. Will (Orlando Bloom) gets free because the men of Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander) infiltrate Feng’s lair. Will explains to Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) that Cutler Beckett has the heart of Davy Jones. Davy Jones captures Calypso and the 9 pirate captains try to rescue her. Captain Swann’s speech was a bit coy and Jack’s hallucination a bit overdone to show Depp’s acting dexterity. Unfortunately, Chow Yun-Fat’s role was small. The pace, action and direction was better than the last installment though the humor was not that enticing. Screenplay was likewise a huge improvement with quotes from Jack – “The world's still the same. There's just less in it.” “This is politics.” William – “Your free.” and Ragetti – “I'm sure there must be a good reason for our suffering.” At Worlds End was a wonderful third film of the franchise that shows a bit more spirit than the previous picture.
