A very popular stellar cast consisting of Oldman, Walken, Hopper, Kilmer, Sizemore, Pitt, Jackson, Arquette, and Slater. Clarence Worley (Christian Slater) meets Alabama Whitman (Patricia Arquette) in a cinema. They fall in love and get married. Drexl Spivey (Gary Oldman), Alabama's pimp is killed since Clearance had an Elvis (Kilmer) apparition that "killing Drexl will make the world a better place." Clifford Worley (Dennis Hopper), Clearance dad is killed by gangster Vincenzo Coccotti (Christopher Walken), who finds out that his son stole the bag of cocaine. The couple goes to LA and meet Dick Ritchie (Michael Rapaport). Coccotti's henchmen, Virgil (James Gandolfini) is sent to find the bag and violently beats Alabama. L.A. detectives Nicholson (Tom Sizemore) and Dimes (Chris Penn) tries to bust a drug deal involving Lee Donowitz (Saul Rubinek), Clarence and friends.

The camera direction was splendid and choice of soundtrack was very apt. Its screenplay of course was incredible. Lines from Elvis - "Every Pimp in the world gets shot" Clarance - "Accident's happen." "As the sun sets slowly in the west we bid a fond farewell to all the friends we've made... and, with a touch of melancholy, we look forward to the time when we will all be together again." Alabama - "Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record: you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool." Similar to Natural Born Killers in terms of the violence, crime lovers, but way better. Its themes of love, friendship, trust and fate. Only qualms I had was the lack of roles for the talented artists involved, Clarence living being shot in the eye (Tarantino's version he died), the swearing and sometimes coy soundtrack. True Romance boasts of stylish directing, believable acting, likable characters and sacrifices to survive various circumstances.
