Based on the beloved novel of the same name by Peter S. Beagle who also wrote the film's screenplay.
This film has gorgeous visuals and smooth flowing animation thanks to the talented artists at Topcraft Studio in Japan (which also animated the pre-Ghibli movie Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind).
I would have rated this movie with 4 stars if it wasn't for its terrible soundtrack and weak voice acting from Mia Farrow, as the unicorn from the title, and Jeff Bridges, as the most annoying ever prince of fairy tales stories.
