this is a moving and enigmatic study of loneliness, based on what was though to be an unfilmable novel by Haruki Murikami. A solitary illustrator meets and marries the girl of his dreams. The only problem is, she's a shopaholic with a particular penchant for designer clothes. He mildly asks her to desist, with consequences that will with him forever.. To top it off there's a beautiful score from Ryuichi Sakaomoto.
