This is by far the best adaptation of the great story a Christmas Carol. Everything works in this one all of the actors are great especially Alastair Sim as Scrooge. Sim is perfect as Scrooge he plays the character as the astute but cruel businessman but then his transition during the night is well done because he plays every moment and every look just right. Then his glorious happiness at his new found life is what seals him as the best performance ever of Ebeneezer Scrooge. Everyone else gives the best version of each of their characters too, I especially like the memorable Kathleen Harrison. This film looks great the old mansions with the excellent lighting and old London is brilliantly brought to life here. The Music is perfectly done by Richard Addinsell where he combines brilliant original music with unforgettable preexisting music. Every scene has the right music. Finally this Scrooge has the best script of any adaptation making every scene have more depth and then ever before or after wards. The brilliance is especially shown in the extra scene in which truly shown how Scrooge became who he was. This is a my favorite Christmas film but it is also one of my favorite films of all time.
