Charly is a somewhat successful film about a mentally retarded man who becomes smart. Cliff Robertson plays him well and it in good enough to watch his whole characters development alone. Other parts of the stories fail more the scientific stuff fails to be that interesting in anyway since it all fake anyways and the other characters are not well enough developed. Either mean, uncaring, or caring. The caring person is just caring throughout except for one scene where she says something I do not think the character as written in the rest of the movie would have said. Anyways it good enough to watch Charly's experience although even that is riddled with scenes that are too stylized for their own good.

Oscar Win Cliff Robertson Best Actor 5/5- Cliff Robertson actually plays this role perfectly. He does not over do it when he plays the mentally retarded individual, but he also plays just a well the frustrated Charly when he is smart.
