Great action with great characters.

John Woo hit the jackpot with this one, realized and sympathetic characters make for much more meaningful action scenes. Ho (Lung Ti) is especially marvelous as a man trying to leave his gangster life style behind after going to prison for a counter fitting deal gone bad. His brother Kit (Leslie Cheung), a cop doesn't believe he has fully left the lifestyle behind and blames him for the death of their father. This formula makes for a much better better film that Woo's later and overly long Hard-Boiled.
