If you've read the book, be prepared for something a little different from the film. Done in a distinctly "Cronenbergian" style, Naked Lunch (the film) is an exploration of the drug-induced stupor of a troubled author, not a direct adaptation of a nearly unadaptable film. Cockroaches, larger-than-life centipedes, and polymorphous typewriters exist in limbo between an exotic fantasy and the sad reality of writer's block addiction.
