Super Size Me

Bold, Snarky, Informative

Morgan Spurlock put his life in danger by making this film and I believe he provided a significant evidence that fastfood is greatly detrimental to one's health. There are more than a handful of jaw-dropping statistics presented here but they were presented with snarky humor; I think that strategy helped make this film all the more memorable. I must say that after watching this picture, I stopped eating fastfood for three months straight. After that time period, its spell wore off... but not completely. Every time I crave fastfood or eat fastfood out of convenience, I always manage to think twice and half of the time, I decide against buying fastfood. This documentary is very strong but it could have been invincible if some of the special features made it into the film. For instance, the which-food-gets-mold-after-a-period-of-time-and-which-food-do-not experiment is nothing short of shocking and amazing. I think if it did make it into the film, more audiences would have been persuaded (and horrified). I enjoy watching this film with friends because they do not watch a lot of documentaries. Not only does this picture inform us about the epidemic called obesity but it forces us to think about our own eating habits (and how we can change). Brilliant film.
