Right at Your Door

Too Much Crying, Arguing

I was so frustrated with this movie because I wanted it so badly to succeed! The premise is great: biological warfare in Los Angeles. At first I thought, "Great! An independent movie with a fascinating and daring premise!" But those thoughts turned into, "What the hell. This couple needs to stop crying their eyes off. This is getting annoying!" half-way through the picture. I get that they had a small budget because it was independently made. But it was just too slow and too focused on this one couple to the point where it got redundant. They could have gone in a million different directions, such as showing the audience what was happening in--oh, I don't know--downtown Los Angeles, where the bombs originated. At first, it was heartpounding to hear that the city was being attacked and people are getting trampled. But eventually, the news died down and there was nothing going on whatsoever. I did like the little twist in the end because it was ironic. If this film was reduced to a forty-five minute madness, it would have been a lot better because it would mean lacking the vapid middle portion.
