Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

A Great Feat

I was wrong about disliking this movie the first time I watched it. I initially thought it was overrated, slow, and tedious. But upon watching more movies and gaining experience, I now believe it's an absolute masterpiece and it deserved every Oscar it claimed. The last hour or so was so engaging, I tried not to blink. The visual effects are pure eye candy and the story can be really touching because it comments on destiny, courage, friendship, and moral choices. My favourite scene in this film is not adrenaline-driven: when Gandalf explains the concept of destiny to Frodo. It made me think beyond the movie and actually thought about my own life--where I am now, what I'm doing with myself to be where I want to be in the future, and more. If that isn't a powerful script, I don't know what is. I can't stress enough that I'm glad I decided to revisit "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
