An important achievement in film history. I saw this film when I was about nine or ten years old and never have I seen a disaster film that could match its greatness. Upon watching this film, I've experienced a wide variety of emotions: a sense of wonder, happiness, great sadness, pulsating fear, warm romanticism... Even though I saw this movie nine years ago, I could still recall certain scenes so vividly, as if they are somehow embedded in my brain. That's what excellent film making is all about: putting one's image into other souls and affect them in such a way that will impact their lives. I will never forget Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's beautiful performances. Many people believe that this film should've been about the disaster itself. I don't think so. I think heart is a crucial aspect of the picture, as if to instill a face to a disaster so we would care more about the outcome, whether we already know what is going to happen or not. This film deserved to be critically acclaimed by the world because, when all else fails, tragedies are what we have in common.
