We are all dorks in some way. I very much adored this movie because it really does stand out among what seems like an ocean of 80's teen flicks. Rarely do I get to watch a woman wanting sex more than the man, a teen druggie that I care about, and high school students just being high school students in a naturalized setting. This film has that organic feel to it so I can relate a lot easier here than the modern teen movies being released in theatres. Some stereotypes are blurred or destroyed. For instance, the popular guy that one expects to ruin everyone's lives turns out to be really kind-hearted. There's no bitchy cheerleader, no cat-fights; just an observation of high school students from fall to summer. I recommend this to everyone who loves movies from the 1980's... and the fans of "new-wave" nerds/outcasts such as the characters from "Superbad."
