Very funny, indeed. I haven't seen a decent episode of "The Simpsons" in a while so my expectations weren't that high. But when that 20th Century Fox logo came out, I started laughing, which was further supported by Homer's "You Suckers!" speech. What I like about this movie is that it captured a lot of that old-school storylines and inner jokes that "The Simpsons" had in the past. Just because the dialogue is funny due to jokes being catapulted on top of another, it doesn't mean that nothing is going on in the background. I love movies like that because it inspires me to see them again and again. We all know that "The Simpsons" is a liberal show but it still makes fun of itself in many ways. Although it can be quite offensive to some people at times, it's never in a mean-spirited way. Will I watch this film again when it comes out on DVD? It's very likely because I might've missed the more subtle jokes. A great, self-aware, short summer film.
