Stellar Cast + Terrible Script/Acting = Bad Movie!
Oliver Stone attempts to change direction by using a stellar cast. What's the problem then? The script is thin, predictable, and riddled with holes. The actors try to give jaded small town charactures, but are far more mocking and silly than the sly and crafty that Stone intended. Think Ben Affleck or Keanu playing Hamlet as examples. The film's not a statement like Natural Born Killers, which coulda been an excuse, and feels light years away from satisfactory. What's a bad movie by a good director get? Aside from reruns on basic cable at 4:00 a.m., they get 1 star.
